Welcome to

“More Than a Parent”

My name is Kiyoko and this is my new blog. A little about me…I am a high school educator and a mom of two beautiful humans. My son is an inquisitive but comical teenager, who can be cracking jokes one minute, then trying to analyze people and the world the next, while my daughter is also comical, but a creative being who likes to paint, make her own beauty products, and is on her own journey to discovering Self. They both keep me on my toes, but both my loves. Then there are my school kids, who sometimes call me mama D, so in that aspect, I am a mother of many. Though both roles can be rewarding and fun, they also come with some challenges.

If there are any educators on here, then you know that we often talk to parents who need support in parenting, even if that means just having someone to listen to and encourage them. Truth be told, I have personally been in those spaces, and still have those moments at times. So I thought, why not create a space for just that and more. So I did, and here I am, ready to share and connect with others in the world of parenting. Welcome to my blog spot. I hope you find something useful here and I look forward to connecting with you. Peace!

Some of you probably hold very dear memories of them, where there’s lots of laughter, good food, a house full of cousins running in and out of… Read more
